Refurbishment continues
At almost the half way mark of the refurbishment of the Half-Time Café it’s pleasing to report the project is tracking well to program. Although it's still too early to confirm it appears the project will be ready on time in early March 2012. This would be a great result and allow members and guests to enjoy this wonderful new facility prior to the Brisbane Broncos first home game against the Cowboys.
As the photgraphs that have been published each week on Twitter and Facebook show a number of features of the new Half-Time Café are taking shape. Already the framework for the new bar and servery has been installed along with the new raised seating area. Many more features will be able to be seen in the coming weeks including new carpet and furniture just to name a few.
It’s also exiting to announce the name for the new Half-Time Café and the menu have also been finalised and both of these will be published shortly. The menu will reflect the restaurant and café functionality the new facility will provide which in addition to a number of new dishes will also feature all of your favourites.
The temporary café will continue to operate in Alfie’s Bar up until the new Half-Time Café opens and I think all would agree that the staff have been doing an outstanding job to ensure members and guests experience minimal disruption. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our members and guests for their patience and understanding during this project. Although disruptions have been limited we still appreciate the support received to date from members and guests and state that any discomfort will be well worth it once the new Half-Time Café opens.
Just a reminder that The Buffet continues to be fully operational during construction of the new Half-Time Café and I encourage all members and guests to visit. Our seafood buffet is available for just $27 on Fridays in February 2012.
To keep up with the latest information relating to the new Half-Time Café please keep visiting this website or alternatively sign up to our Facebook page or start following Broncos Leagues club on Twitter. Additionally I can be contacted directly to answer any of your questions via email, telephone or in person.

The Red Hill Community Club was recently established to be the combined home of the Ithaca Bowls Club, the Normanby Hounds Rugby League Football Club, and the Ashgrove RSL.
Located at 22 Fulcher Road at Red Hill, the newly formed club also provides services and facilities to in excess of 50 community groups, charities, schools, and non for profit organisations.
Broncos Leagues Club is proud to be one of the inaugural sponsors of this wonderful community organisation.
Mr Geoff Kuehner, the General Manager of Broncos Leagues Club said that the sponsorship was exciting and that he was looking forward to witnessing and being part of the future growth of the Red Hill Community Club.
"Broncos Leagues Club is a strong contributor to the local community and this sponsorship provides the Club with another opportunity to demonstrate our commitment in this regard," said Mr Kuehner.
"Already we have seen a number of improvements made since the new Club opened in September 2011 and there is no doubt these improvements will increase patronage and secure a successful future for all involved.
"On behalf of the board of directors of Broncos Leagues Club I take this opportunity to formally congratulate the Red Hill Community Club on their work and efforts to date, and once again thank them for the opportunity to become a sponsor."

Dear Member
RE: CLUB EXPANSION
It's with great excitement I announce that Broncos Leagues Club will be expanding its member's services and facilities to include a new bottle shop and a new and much larger merchandise store opening in late 2011.
In recent years Broncos Leagues Club has only been able to provide over the bar take aways from Alfie's Bar and this has limited product selection and affected our customer service levels. With this in mind we have been planning to re-introduce a bottle shop for some time to rectify these issues and we are pleased to now be able to do this. The bottle shop will be located where the existing merchandise store is.
Additionally we are excited about the new and much larger merchandise store. The new facility is expected to be almost three times larger than the existing one and is certain to impress with its extensive range of Brisbane Broncos' merchandise. It will also continue as a Ticketek outlet for the convenience of members and guests.
Unfortunately to allow for the above mentioned expansion some changes to our services and facilities need to be made. One of the biggest changes relates to the Kids Room which from August 2011 will permanently close. This decision has not been made lightly and was based on a review of all of the available statistics we have. In summary the Club needed to make a decision on what services and facilities best suited its needs now and in the future. The Kids Room is our least used facility and is also the most likely, we feel, to come under future legislative pressure. Already the legislative requirements to operate the Kids Room are extensive.
To prepare for the new bottle shop and merchandise store the Kids Room will close on Monday 1st August, 2011. All arrangements will remain in place until this point.
At the time of writing this letter Broncos Leagues Club is also close to finalising a refurbishment plan for the Half Time Cafe in early 2012. Further details will be made available on this project when they become available, check for updates via our website www.broncosleagues.com.au.
Any decisions relating to services and facilities are difficult and are always made with the best interests of our members in mind. If you would like to make a comment or provide feedback I can be contacted personally on 3858 9003 or via email at geoffk@broncosleagues.com.au. Alternatively an appointment can also be made by contacting the above mentioned telephone number.
I look forward to sharing these new services and facilities with you.
Yours sincerely

Dear Members
It’s with great pleasure that on behalf of the board of directors I announce Broncos Leagues Club has agreed to extend two of its key sponsorships for at least a further two years.
In recent days our involvement with Wests Juniors and the Broncos Old Boys were finalised and new commitments were made for 2011 and 2012.
Wests Juniors are based at Purtell Park in Bardon and have players and teams from Under 7’s to Under 18’s who compete in the South East Division Juniors Competition. Wests Juniors and Broncos Leagues Club have enjoyed a long and successful association for many years. Once again this year Broncos Leagues Club will purchase the playing jerseys for every team and will also provide an annual cash injection to the Club.
The Broncos Old Boys also play an important role in the community and the financial contributions received from Broncos Leagues Club greatly assists them to run events for current and former players, but most importantly allows them to support a number of junior rugby league competitions. These competitions include the Kevin Walter’s Cup for Under 15’s, the Michael Hancock Cup for the Under 14’s and the Steve Renouf Shield for Under 13’s.
Our sponsorship of the Brisbane Broncos for Season 2012 is also close to being finalised which injects $500,000 in the community and demonstrates a strong commitment to our constitutional requirements to support the Brisbane Broncos and foster the growth and development of rugby league in Queensland.
Broncos Leagues Club plays an important role in the community and during the 2010/2011 financial year will inject $750,000 into the local community. Additionally Broncos Leagues Club will also contribute $300,000 to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund in the same time period which will provide assistance to hundreds of community groups, charities and projects.
Some of Broncos Leagues Club other key sponsorships include Save Our Waterways Now, Red Hill Special School, Camp Quality, Clubs Smile for a Child, Paraplegic Benefit Fund and Men of League.
Yours sincerely
